How to find a life verseHow to find a life verse

It’s sort of funny that this post was not my first one, since it’s about life verses. Hey, I even got a domain that included “life bible verses”. Yet, I’ve waited until now to put this article together.

What is a life verse? A life verse is simply a verse from the bible that brings a strong inspiration to your own personal life. It is a source of strength and encouragement. It can bring comfort to your heart in a troubling time or bring joy to your day when you are on top of the world.

Can you have more than one life verse? Of course! As we spend time reading the Bible, we grow spiritually. With that growth comes a maturity to comprehend more about how God works in our life. Different seasons of our lives bring about new challenges and opportunities. You will probably have a list of life verses that have been meaningful in your daily walk with God.

How do I find a life verse? I get this question a lot. It’s not so much of you choosing one that it is one chooses you. In Hebrews 4:12 it says “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” By the way, this has been one of my life verses for years. When we realize that the ‘word of God’ is alive, we can readily assume that it speaks to us while reading or meditating on the scripture. It is in that time of searching the Bible to find comfort in time of need, direction in the middle of confusion, or answers when God seems to be silent that a life verse will find you. It is as if the Holy Spirit says, “stop, that one is for you today.” Now, that is not a audible voice to me, it is an impression in my heart or an inclination ‘something found or discovered’. I call it my ah-ha moment or in some instances my eureka expression.

Here are a few verses that have meant something to me at different seasons of my life. Hopefully this will help you discover your live verse. Happy Discovery.
