Bible verses in an emergencyThere are times when we are in an immediate state of panic. We need answers or help quickly. Here is a list of, what I call, emergency bible verses. Compiled with a few topic headings to help you find something when you are in a hurry. I have to say, any time you are in need and you call out to God in need, He will come through with comfort and help. Jeremiah 33:3, is a bible verse that I learned as a child. My teachers called it, “God’s phone number”, and they were correct. Because of the unconditional love of God, calling out to Him in prayer is not a fruitless endeavor. These emergency bible verses deal with issues of fear, disappointment, depression, worry, peace and confidence. Hopefully these key bible verses will help you in an hour when you need guidance.

Emergency Bible Verses

When you have an emergency
Jeremiah 33:3
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

When you need direction —
Psalm 119:105
American Standard Bible (NASB)
Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

When you are in a fearful emergency situation —
Psalm 56:3
American Standard Bible (NASB)
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You.

When people fail you —
Psalm 27
American Standard Bible (NASB)
The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?

When you are worried —
Matthew 6:25-33
International Version (NIV)
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

When you need peace —
Matthew 11:28-30
International Version (NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

When you need courage of confidence —
Joshua 1:7-9
International Version (NIV)
“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

When you are depressed —
Psalm 143:7-8
International Version (NIV)
Answer me quickly, Lord; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.

When you are lonely —
Psalm 23
International Version (NIV)
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

When you need assurance in an emergency —
2 Timothy 1:12
American Standard Bible (NASB)
For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.
