One of the most inspirational bible verses in the bible is found in Isaiah 40. How many believers have gone to this passage, time and time again to be encouraged by the words written: “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” What a promise. There are so many times that it seems that giving up would be a better alternative than the fight. Those that hope, will gain strength. I’ve posted this youtube of a song I remember back in the 80′s of one of my favorite artist of all time, Phil Driscoll. “Wings as Eagles” was a huge hit for Phil, who to me, is the Christian counterpart to Joe Cocker.
I pray that you would be encouraged this day in knowing that your strength is born out of your weakness and better days are ahead for those that “hope in the Lord.”
… will gain strength
GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
Let the people gain new strength.
New International Version (NIV)
28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
